  • Install PhonePe App: Download and install the PhonePe app from the App Store (for iOS devices) or the Google Play Store (for Android Devices).
  • Sign Up or Log In: If you are a new user, use the PhonePe app and register. Log in to your PhonePe account if you already have one.
  • Add a Bank Account: You will be taken to your PhonePe home screen after logging in. To access your account settings, tap on your profile icon or your name.
  • Look for an option like “Bank Accounts” or “My Money” in the account settings and touch on it.
  • Choose “Add New Bank Account” from the menu.
  • Select Bank: Select your bank from the list available.
  • PhonePe will ask you to authenticate your mobile number, which is linked to your bank account. Check that the phone number you supply is the same as the one associated with your bank account.
  • Link Bank Account: PhonePe will attempt to validate your mobile number by issuing an OTP (One-Time Password) to the mobile phone you have registered with. When prompted, enter the OTP.
  • Set your UPI PIN: After you have validated your mobile number, you will be required to create a UPI (Unified Payments Interface) PIN for your bank account. Secure transactions require this PIN.
  • Bank Account Linked: Your bank account will be linked to PhonePe after you successfully set up the UPI PIN. You can now use PhonePe to make transactions straight from your bank account, such as money transfers and bill payments.

Remember that connecting your bank account to PhonePe without an ATM card relies on the UPI system, which is intended to facilitate digital payments without the use of physical cards. To safeguard your account against unauthorised access, keep your UPI PIN secure and do not share it with anyone.
